This Quick Tip Tuesday is for anyone searching for a new job or who might be looking for a new one someday (AKA, 99.9% of you).

It’s no secret that many people, but especially Millennials and Gen Zers, are seeking employment that is “more than just a job.” Instead, we want work that is aligned with our values and personal mission statement—something that lets us feel like we’re having a positive impact on the world with the 80,000+ hours we’ll spend working in our lifetimes.

Luckily, there are a lot of ways you can do good with your career. Perhaps the most obvious way is to work for an impact-focused company. So, to assist you in your search, here’s a big list of impact-focused job boards:

Impact-Focused Job Boards:

  • 80,000 Hours Job Board: Hand-picked jobs focused on the world’s most pressing problems. Hosted by the highly reputable Effective Altruism site, 80,000 Hours. You can also sign up to get updates sent to your inbox.
  • Idealist: Social-Impact focused jobs. Includes paid and volunteer roles.
  • Animal Advocacy Job Board: Jobs in the animal advocacy space.
  • Human Rights Job Board: Human Rights space roles (lots of international roles).
  • Tech Jobs for Good: Use those smart tech skills for the greater good.
  • Remote Impact: Great for finding work-from-home positions focused on social impact opportunities (especially climate, health, & poverty initiatives).

Plus, lists of even more job boards can be found here and here and here.

I know from personal experience how draining it is to be unhappy with your job and the ripple effect stress can have on our families and personal lives. If you add raising tiny humans to the mix, it’s no wonder working moms are one of the most burnt out demographics out there!

Never fear, I’ve got good news: It’s possible to create a fulfilling, balanced career that leaves more space for your rich personal life.

As a triple-certified career coach with a master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational psychology (the psychology of work & careers), I’ve helped countless women and moms overcome their stress, burnout, and career challenges. As a working mom myself, you can trust that I get you and can help you redesign a career that works with this wild but wonderful time in your life.
